About The Torland - Paignton Seafront
Paignton's stretch of the English Riviera brings sandy beach, pier and a run of local attractions all within easy reach, and The Torland - Paignton Seafront makes a handy base for it, sitting on Sands Road close to the water. It's a small hotel with just 16 rooms, which keeps things personal rather than corporate.
Rooms are comfortable and well kept, many looking out over the sea, and each has an en-suite shower room that has been recently refurbished. Family rooms are available alongside standard doubles, and there's free WiFi and drinks in the room throughout. Breakfast covers both a full English and a continental spread, with kids' meals and packed lunches on offer for days out, and staff are on hand for practical help via the concierge service. Outside there's a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating, plus free on-site parking and luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures.
Beyond the hotel, the area suits walkers and cyclists, with golf and fishing nearby, watersports along the coast, and a good choice of pubs, restaurants and entertainment within reach. It's a straightforward, well-run seaside stay rather than a grand one, but the sea views and breakfast are consistently the high points.

What guests say
We stayed for 3 nights instead of 5 due to short illness before we were due to stay. Lovely hotel all round with good rooms, delicious breakfasts which Igor and team will be flexible eg you can have scrambled eggs or poached if you don't want the full English; or the full English minus red meat. The continental also has an excellent choice of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, bread items which you can toast if you want to. Full selection of teas to suit every taste and coffees. Igor is lovely host and has offered to give us 2 complimentary nights in the future, as we had booked via the totally inflexible booking.com.site who can't even offer a partial refund for guests postponing stays due to diarrhoea and vomiting. We also had medical evidence of it

Lovely rooms, with sea view for me. I stayed for work. My only negative was I felt really exposed, the toilet was directly next to a low window, whilst it was frosted glass I did have to hang a towel over the window for my own comfort. It would be much better with a blind. Currently some refurbishment going on, looks like they spend money on the place unlike some others. Definitely will be coming again. 🤗

We had a fabulous stay at The Torland. The staff were so kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and the cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The hotel is located in an ideal spot, close to the harbour and a short distance away from the hustle & bustle of the main shopping area. Overall a great place and we will revisit again in the future.
