About Trellyn Woodland Camping and Yurts
Trellyn Woodland Camping and Yurts tucks itself into mixed woodland near St Nicholas, a short drive from Newport and the coast at Abercastle. Pitches are spread through the trees rather than lined up in rows, giving each one a sense of privacy and dappled shade unusual for Pembrokeshire. Fire pits are permitted at most spots, and the wooded setting provides welcome shelter from the wind that can otherwise sweep across this exposed stretch of coast.
The site keeps facilities deliberately simple and low-impact—composting toilets, hot showers, a small honesty shop for essentials, but no electric hook-ups—which suits campers looking for a genuine escape from mains power and Wi-Fi. There's also an on-site café, though the woodland setting can feel a little rustic for those expecting more polished amenities.
It's a good base for exploring the quieter western end of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path around Abercastle and Trefin, or the Preseli Hills further east, and attracts walkers, families and anyone simply seeking a peaceful few nights among the trees.

What visitors say
We have spend 3 nights here. Camping is really beautiful. In the middle of the woods with a stream running through. You can tell the owners have put a lot of effort in to make it just right. Every tent-pitch has its own seating area with a fire place, tarp, seating area and a compost toilet. And there are regular washing facilities as well. Lots of privacy. It does not come cheap at 60 pounds a night and a small amount for 'The Greener Camping Club' membership but its definitely worth it. You can walk to the beach in a few minutes. There is a sauna, canoes and fire wood to make use of included. We have enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend.

What an amazing place! Emma and Matt have made this place truly something! We stayed in the Beachcomber Yurt and it had everything; the Yurt is far bigger than you expect, the beds, duvets and pillows are super comfy and the wood burner was essential at night. We were hidden away with a superbly stocked kitchen, firepit and compost toilet but only a few minutes to the wood barn, sauna and main house. Emma and Matt couldn’t have been more helpful, giving us local pub, walk and chippy advice which was essential. We’ll definitely be back and definitely spread the word. Thanks guys! Rich

Fantastic campsite with the friendliest owners ever!!! So helpful, friendly, informative, welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Pizza oven Mondays , use of kayaks, body boards, fridges and freezers, compost toilet on every pitch, kitchen area on each pitch with fire area to cook on. 10-15min walk to beach. 30min paddle round to next beach. 20 min drive to St davids. Lots of info in communal area.

I had an amazing stay at Trellyn Woodland Camping. I had a large tent and there was plenty of room to spare once it was up. Each pitch was private, had it's own covered area where you could build your campfire for the night, sit around the table or use it as a sheltered cooking station. It also had a handy composting toilet and convenient water stations dotted around so you didn't need to go far to get water. I had a brilliant welcome from Emma when I arrived and she gave me a tour of the site and took me to my pitch. Over the course of the week I got to meet Matt, Claire and Kevin who were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The site as a whole was wonderful. You're surrounded by trees and birdsong and you're a short walk away from the harbour at Abercastle and the coastal path. If you don't feel like cooking there's a pub about a 30 minute walk away and of course you're within easy reach of all the local tourist destinations. I can't fault the site at all, it's a perfect campsite in a perfect spot.
