The Burgage

Pembrokeshire

Built in the 1960s as a modernist design, The Burgage is a split-level cottage sitting in substantial grounds that slope down towards a wooded valley. The architect Monty Minter created something distinctive here: clean lines, generous windows, and a layout that opens the living spaces onto the landscape. Three bedrooms sleep six, with a super kingsize on the lower ground floor, a double and two singles on the main level, plus two bathrooms. The property is yours alone, and one dog stays free.

The heart of the house is the open-plan kitchen and living area, where full-length windows frame views across private lawns. A wood-burning stove, comfortable seating, and a dining space with breakfast bar create the main gathering point. Beyond the patio doors, gardens mix mown lawns with wilder sections, bordered by a stream that runs through the grounds—good for exploration and outdoor games. Parking is on site, and essentials like bed linen, wifi and heating are covered. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room downstairs.

Nolton Haven's sheltered sandy beach lies less than a mile away, reachable on foot down a country lane. The Preseli Hills and their prehistoric monuments are nearby for hiking and cycling, while the Pembrokeshire coastal path offers longer walks. The cottage suits families and groups looking for both beach time and quieter countryside in one place.
