Craigdarroch Cottage suits couples and solo travellers who want a base for exploring the National Park without fuss. This former coachman's cottage, refurbished and now around a century old, sits in St Fillans on the banks of Loch Earn. Ground-floor living means no stairs to the main rooms: a combined living and dining space with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen with an induction hob and electric oven, a bedroom with a super kingsize bed, and a shower room. A decking area (reached by 30 steps) looks down the loch. Parking for one car is provided on site.
The village location puts you within walking distance of a shop and café. From the cottage itself you can set out on paths along the old railway line or into the surrounding hills, both offering views across Loch Earn. The area supports ospreys, red squirrels, and deer. After days outdoors, the wood-burner makes for an easy evening in. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
