About Black Bull Caravan Park
Black Bull Caravan Park sits just outside Pickering in North Yorkshire, making a handy base for exploring the North York Moors and the region's market towns. The site offers a mix of hardstanding pitches — including super-serviced options and a handful of extra-large plots — all consistently praised for their generous size and tidy upkeep. Facilities are modern and spotlessly maintained, while the friendly, helpful staff regularly earn mentions for going the extra mile.
The on-site pub is a real draw, serving good food without needing to leave camp, and there's a well-kept dog walk for four-legged guests. Black Bull scooped runner-up in the 2025 Best Family Campsite awards for North East England, and it's easy to see why families and tourers return — though some note the site can feel functional rather than scenic. A solid, well-run choice for a North Yorkshire stay.

What visitors say
We hired a static caravan and we were absolutely delighted with both the caravan and the site. Check in and check out very straightforward, site very easy to find and exceptionally clean and close to Pickering. Central enough for much of North Yorkshire and what the area has to offer. Games room and outdoor spaces available. Pub at end of the road, we didn't actually visit it but seemed very popular. We wished we'd booked two weeks instead of one, we'd definitely return.

We camped here so we could go on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Pickering. It is a 3 min drive into Pickering or a 25 min walk. There is a bus stop outside the site which can take you either to York (1 hr 20 mins) or Whitby. There is a pub on the main road. The site is clean and tidy, good size pitches, mainly service pitches with a row of general pitches. The site is very popular as when one person leaves another is ready to take the space. There is a dog shower a hairdryer and iron that you put money in to use. They have a games room with a tv and a pool table, and a snack machine.

We've stayed on the touring site. Very clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful but the only complain I have is that the WiFi connection was rubbish. I did complain to the staff and they said that it was a private company that supplies it. I'm on O2 and only got a signal near the reception area which is strange as never had the problem before on this site. Apart from that we had a lovely stay.
