Just two guest rooms make up The Roses B and B, an adults-only bed and breakfast at Riverside Cottage in Portree, Isle of Skye. That small scale keeps things quiet and personal, with a communal lounge where guests can settle in and take in the rural views beyond the garden.
Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks provided, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. My daughter and I spent 3 days at The Roses in September and had the best experience imaginable with our hosts. The breakfast menus were just to our liking and served in a bright and sunny dining room with a view, our room was spacious and very comfortable, the garden space was stunning (Andy is a top notch gardener!) and our hosts went above and beyond making sure we had the most wonderful stay with them. We highly recommend this B&B!

Excellent Guesthouse in Portree. Andy and Lian are the most attentive hosts you could wish for. With great passion, they create a true home away from home for their guests. Breakfast is lovingly prepared and absolutely delicious, and they even send you off for the day with a slice of homemade cake. Since the guesthouse is located slightly above Portree, it’s wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, it’s the perfect base for exploring the many highlights of the Isle of Skye.

Lovely friendly and helpful hosts. The bnb is immaculately clean and Andy and Lian Na take a huge pride in the service they provide. We stayed in the double room with private bathroom across the hall which was no problem with bathrobes provided. There is also a full lounge which is purely for the use of guests, which came in very useful on a wet, blustery day. It is a bit of a walk up the hill but the setting is delightful.

I've stayed in a few B&B's and none have been as good and thoughtful as this one. Lian and Andy really try their best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Everything is well thought out and prepared. Wondering where the best place to eat is? There is a list ready for you! Didn't want to drive and need a taxi? There is a ready made list! Need more places to eat? Here is another list. Breakfast was also the tastiest of the whole trip. You can fill in a checklist with your wishes beforehand. The food is beautifully presented. This stay sets a very high standard for all hotels and B&B's to come. Thank you for a wonderful time with you!
