About Rambler Inn

Breakfast and a laid-back bar atmosphere set the tone at Rambler Inn, a straightforward hotel on Church St in Portstewart, County Derry. It makes a practical base for anyone visiting Ulster University's Coleraine campus nearby, or exploring the wider Portstewart area.

Rooms are simple and functional, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a flat-screen television, plus free WiFi throughout. There's a garden for guests who want to sit outside, and the overall feel is unfussy rather than luxurious.

A restaurant and pub or bar are both nearby, and the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and watersports for those wanting to fill their days, along with local entertainment options in the evenings. It suits guests after a no-nonsense place to sleep and eat breakfast rather than a destination in itself.

Happy to find an accessible room where we could bring our dog. Pleasant ground floor room, comfortable bed and fabulous wheelchair friendly bathroom. This place is very dog friendly - provided both food and water bowls, plentiful treats, poo bag and helpful directions for walking the dog. No food available (but close to loads of cafés). Nice area where you can eat take-aways or make a hot drink or just hang out with friends. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Booked The Game of Thrones guest house for 1 night. Check in was faultless. When we went to our room, which was a small family room, there were no tea or coffee making facilities. The en-suite was too small for any kind of comfortable use, with no hot water available in the sink which was minute and very hard to use. The staff were excellent, but when my daughter ordered boiled eggs for breakfast, she was told by a member of staff returning from the kitchen that they were too busy to boil them and could she order something else. Breakfast overall was average. Property was clean but basic and could be better.

KEN IS AMAZING! I have been traveling for two months non stop and have been in the UK for a month already and not a single person in the hospitality industry in any of the places I have been have even been close to Ken. I know that was a lot of words, maybe even a run-on sentence, but Ken was so hospitable and kind. He had wonderful stories and made us feel beyond welcome. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but would have stayed more if it would have fit into our plans. Trevor made a nice spread for breakfast, the bacon and tomatoes were my favorite and I went back for seconds! Really nice tea and coffee. Tons to choose from and they let us take snacks and some of the little cookie packs to munch on later. Super thoughtful as we had a long drive ahead. Both Ken and Trevor waved us goodbye! While there’s not too much to do with GOT, there are little nods to the show around and that was good enough for us. Thanks for a wonderful night in and great breakfast!
