The Brecon Beacons are half an hour's drive away, the Elan Valley with its red kites and waterside trails is equally close, and Builth Wells itself—with its cinema, swimming pool, golf course and restaurants—sits just four miles down the road. Boatside - Edw Lodge puts you in the middle of it all: a wooden lodge on a riverside campsite where the River Wye runs through the grounds, offering salmon, trout and coarse fishing to those with a licence. Kayaking and canoeing are possible from October to March, walking trails depart from the doorstep, and the National Cycle Network passes through the site for road and mountain biking.
The lodge sleeps six across three bedrooms: a double with an ensuite bathroom, and two twin rooms served by a separate shower room. The open-plan ground floor combines living space with a dining area and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wifi are all included; there is private parking for three cars and a private hot tub for eight. One dog is welcome and stays free of charge. The campsite itself maintains clean facilities and an on-site shop with essentials. No smoking inside.
An unfenced river sits 220 yards from the property. The site is within walking distance of a pub and restaurant, and the Royal Welsh Showground is five miles away.

Me and my Friends were doing a road trip around wales, and found this gem, we booked a couple hours before turning up, was given good information by the staff about time to arrive and leave by, really good services with lots of hot water showers, cleaning up areas and toilets, very quiet and relaxed, would come again, and would recommend for families or groups of people just stopping by. And the town near by supplies all the necessities.

Absolutely fantastic site great host my first time camping with the kids alone as hubby was working I was made to feel so at ease dropped us into a local show nothing is or was to much trouble can no wait to go back ! I was booked for a few days but with children with autism anything can happen and sadly I had to leave I wasn’t charged for my stay (this has gone in the camping pot as we now have the bug) Great little onsite shop stocked with everything you could need lovely clean facilities and a friendly peaceful site ! The views are amazing . I met a lovely couple of ladies there that helped me to they stay often as it’s go good ! The river is beutifull and my eldest enjoyed a few hours fishing . Go prepared as there isn’t much locally but if you don’t have it don’t worry as they have it all , thanks again !

We stayed while cycling north. We were hosted by the campground owner and he was very helpful. Facility was clean! If you have not stocked enough food , they can help you with a little shop. One of us swim in the river ! It was great ! We highly recommend to cyclists and others !

We stayed here camping for the bank holiday weekend, absolutely beautiful place, there is everything you need for a camping trip, the guy that goes around on the quad is so lovely he always makes sure you are ok and have what you need and if you need anything he will do his best to get it for you, can't wait to come back, it was the perfect weekend away from the city.
