Gorsddu

Gorsddu sits in open countryside near Llanwrthwl, where the River Wye runs through a landscape of moorland and mountains. The Llanwrthwl Horseshoe Walk, part of the National Trust's Abergwesyn Common, starts at the nearby church and takes you across high ground with long views. The property itself occupies a substantial rural setting with an enclosed garden, decking, and parking for several cars; a stream runs through the grounds, and the moorland setting means dogs must be kept on a lead.

Inside, three bedrooms sleep seven: one with a king bed and ensuite shower, another with a king bed, and a third with two single beds plus a pull-out single. Two bathrooms serve the property, with heated towel rails in both. The open-plan ground floor has a living room with a wood-burning stove and television, a dining room, and a kitchen fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Underfloor heating warms the ground floor; biomass central heating covers the rest of the house. Wifi, bed linen, towels and electricity are included; wood for the burner is provided initially, then charged at cost. A gas BBQ sits on the decking, and there is secure cycle storage on site.

The moorland and mountain views are constant from the main rooms. This is sheep country, so the property requests that visiting pets stay on a lead. No smoking throughout. Families with young children can request a cot, stairgate and highchair.
