Pistyll Gwyn

The River Wye valley around Rhayader draws walkers and cyclists for its reservoir landscapes and red kite sightings, along with some of the UK's established cycle routes. Pistyll Gwyn sits on a working sheep farm in the village of Llanwrthwl, accessed by farm track—rural enough to feel removed, but within reach of local amenities and attractions like the Elan Valley dams.

This converted barn sleeps ten across five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The ground floor holds one double en-suite plus a separate toilet, while upstairs four further bedrooms include a kingsize, two doubles, and two rooms with zip-and-link beds that adapt to single or double configuration. The kitchen and dining area open to countryside views and come equipped for real cooking. A wood burner warms the living room on cooler evenings, underfloor heating runs throughout, and there is a utility room with washer and dryer—useful after muddy walks or cycling trips. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; logs for the burner are provided. An enclosed garden wraps around the property with patio, terrace and furniture, and a private hot tub seats six. Two dogs are welcome and stay free, though they must remain on lead in this sheep farming landscape. Parking for four cars is on site.
