Gilfach Nature Reserve is within walking distance, offering moorland, woodland, rivers and waterfalls. Rhayader itself—a short drive away—has restaurants, cafes and shops. The Elan Valley, known for forested areas, waterfalls and Victorian dams, suits walkers and cyclists. The Red Kite feeding centre and Llandrindod Wells spa town are also nearby, as is Builth Wells with its Royal Welsh Showground. For more ambitious days, the Brecon Beacons National Park lies further out.
Mayflower is a single-bedroom shepherd's hut sleeping two, with an open-plan layout combining living, dining and kitchen areas. A wood-burning stove heats the space, a smart TV provides entertainment, and the kitchen has an electric hob and combined microwave-oven-grill. The bedroom holds a kingsize bed; the shower room has a cubicle shower and heated towel rail. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, with initial logs for the stove provided.
The property's real draw is the private hot tub set in a lawned garden with seating, where you can watch the night sky. Parking for one car is available. One pet is welcome. No smoking inside.
