Saltburn-by-the-Sea sits on the North Yorkshire coast where the Cleveland Way runs directly past the village. Griff Cottage stands metres from two beaches and the walking trail itself, which heads towards Staithes in one direction and along the seafront towards Saltburn in the other. The clifftop path offers uninterrupted views across the water, and for quieter days there are gentler walks on Cattersley Bay's sands or around the jetty. The village has good public transport links if you'd rather skip the walk back.
The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link super king that can be split into twins, the other with a double. Downstairs, a living room with a gas woodburner opens onto a dining kitchen with a full range of appliances—oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine—and large windows and patio doors looking onto the garden. The single bathroom has a bath and shower cubicle. There's parking for two cars on site, a bike store, and an enclosed back garden with a summerhouse, seating area and barbecue. One dog is welcome at no extra charge. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The cottage is entirely yours; no smoking inside, please.

This cottage exceeded our expectations - our every need was met (including the dogs), the house is gorgeous and finished to such a high standard. It is impeccably clean and we loved the welcome ‘basket’ of milk, wine, beer and cakes! The outside area was perfect for enjoying a drink, and the beach only 4 mins walk away was absolutely stunning. We visited the Kaskane bar and restaurant and found it a nice place to sit and have a drink. We enjoyed the other recommendations of the Reunion bar in Loftus (good reasonably priced food), Magpie Cafe in Whitby and Seaview in Saltburn. Great base for exploring this coastal area and the Moors, and there are a few nice little shops in Loftus too. Paul kept in touch throughout and we felt so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. Book the Griff for a fab and relaxing stay.

Beautiful cottage it has everything you need to have a relaxing holiday. Many extras including milk and biscuits etc Lovely beach not far away to walk our dog. Paul was in touch to make sure everything was 😁

Griff cottage was all we expected and more. The bed was super comfortable. We really didn’t want to leave. The dogs loved the beach at the end of the road, the restaurant that Paul recommended kascane was amazing and just a short walk away. Every review I read about Griff cottage was spot on. We will definitely be back.

Fabulous stay in a lovely house, attention to detail and our welcome pack of wine, beer and cakes was so nice. The house was spotless and everything we needed was provided. The beach beyond the jetty was just perfect for us and especially our dog! Great base to explore the North Yorkshire coast. Richard, Kim & Baxter
