Fosdyke Cottage
Redcar and Cleveland
Skinningrove sits on the Yorkshire Heritage Coast between Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Staithes, where the Cleveland Way meets the North Sea. Fosdyke Cottage is positioned right on this long-distance walking route, making it a practical base for exploring the coastline on foot. The village itself is small and quiet, with a local shop and a pub-restaurant within easy reach.
The cottage has two bedrooms (one double, one with bunk beds), a bathroom with bath and shower, and a living room with woodburner. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and there's a separate toilet on the first floor. An enclosed garden with seating area and patio furniture faces away from the lane. Everything needed for a stay is provided—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with initial logs for the woodburner. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. Smoking is not permitted inside.
Beaches lie 300 yards away; one features in the UK's top twenty hidden beaches and has sand dunes. From here you can walk the cliff path to Saltburn in about ninety minutes, or drive there in eight minutes for Victorian seaside attractions, a Michelin-starred restaurant and a surfing school. Whitby, the fishing town, is twelve miles further along the coast. The property suits families, couples and anyone wanting to walk the Heritage Coast without the fuss of constantly moving on.
