Saltburn-by-the-Sea draws surfers and coastal walkers in equal measure, with the clifftop path and tram leading down to the shoreline, and Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby all nearby. Monty House sits in this setting as a restored Victorian townhouse that mixes original character—including a working fire—with contemporary comfort. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping up to seven across three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Ground floor living is split across three spaces: a bay-windowed front room with the fire, and toward the rear, an open-plan kitchen and dining area where a made-to-measure table accommodates family meals or games. A second living room upstairs has a games console. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. A ground floor shower room and a first floor bathroom with bath and shower serve the bedrooms: one double, one zip-and-link pair of singles, and one bunk with a double base and single above. Linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included, and one well-behaved dog stays free. The enclosed rear garden has a patio and lockable storage for surfboards and beach kit.

Fabulous stay at Monty House, the house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Everything you could need in the kitchen and a washer and dryer. Great games cupboard and Nintendo switch which myself and the kids enjoyed. Decor is wonderful, comfy beds and great location couldn’t recommend enough. Will definitely be back again.

Stayed for 4 nights in December in this lovely house. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautufully presented. The kitchen is extremely well equipped as is the rest of the house with everything we needed for a great holiday.

A lovely stay! Really clean! The host gave really clear friendly instructions. The location was perfect. The décor is stunning! The beds are incredibly comfortable. We will most definitely be going again very soon!

I recently stayed at Monty House, what a beautiful house, I was captivated by the stunning decor and inviting atmosphere. The place was impeccably clean and had a warm, cozy feel that made it feel like home. The location was absolutely ideal with easy access to local attractions, restaurants and the beach. We loved being able to explore the area on foot, discovering quaint cafes and shops. Monty House was well equipped, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the living areas were perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. We were especially impressed with the thoughtful touches throughout the home. As a dog owner, I was thrilled to find that the property was not only pet-friendly but also stocked with items specifically for our dog. Overall Monty House exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-equipped place to stay in a good location. We can’t wait to return!
