What visitors say
This is a review of the gym and changing rooms only. The biggest downfall is the cleanliness, there was a couple of open days over the weekend just gone and the gym was as clean as I’ve seen it, although could still be cleaner. I do hope that this level of cleanliness becomes the new norm and it wasn’t just to show off the gym to entice more people to become members. The floor mats and surrounding floor where they lay is really quite dirty and it really shouldn’t be. The place could do with a deep clean to wipe the slate ‘clean’; and from then on the place should be properly maintained to a higher level of cleanliness. The floors in the changing rooms are quite grotty as well, it needs more than someone running a mop over it a couple of times a day. The equipment, since being a member over 3 years ago, has vastly improved, as has the layout and the lighting. The app and gate system feels a bit outdated but that’s not really a problem. I think better gym culture needs to be instilled too to get people to unrack their weights after use. The gym has massively improved since I was last a member, excited to see future developments.

Update: new ticketing system is an absolute joke. 20 people queue to get a ticket. Absolutely pointless piece of equipment who is even going to stay longer than 4 hours? I ended up leaving as was not willing to wait 20 minutes to get a ticket. Don’t even care if this is the councils doing, this is impacting donyngs and its customers. Will be leaving if this doesn’t fix itself Ive been coming here for over 10 years and overall it’s a solid gym. To be fair, there have been some good upgrades to the gym itself over the years. I also remember when the centre had a sauna and steam room, which were great facilities to have. In recent years the prices have gone up (which is expected), but those facilities have been removed and some parts of the centre are starting to feel a bit dated. I think the local area is really crying out for a gym that offers those additional wellness facilities again, and realistically that’s the kind of thing that would make me consider moving elsewhere if it became available nearby. It’s a shame because with a few improvements like that, this place could easily be one of the best gyms around

This is a review of the gym only Plus points - good equipment range and on decent condition Negative points - can get pretty packed on peak times and the most irritating this is that so many members seem to forget how to put any weights back after using them. It’s like there’s a special machine at the entrance that removes your sense of consideration to other gym users and worst still staff that appear to be oblivious to it

The new parking system has made visiting the centre more of a hassle than it needs to be. On my last visit there were around 15 people queueing in the rain just to register their car. The gym itself could also do with a better clean. There’s often dust and dirt around the equipment and mats, which isn’t what you’d expect from a busy gym. Another frustration is people leaving coats and bags on equipment to “reserve” it while they’re elsewhere in the gym. This seems to happen regularly and isn’t really addressed. The staff are friendly and the facilities have potential, but the parking system, cleanliness and gym etiquette need improving.

People say this gym offers a good range of modern equipment and a well-maintained pool. They also highlight the friendly and helpful staff, and the overall good value.
Some reviews mention the gym can be poorly maintained.
