What visitors say

Cassandra Summerton

We visited the Red Lion Inn & Restaurant yesterday, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how friendly and welcoming the staff were — a true family-run pub atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The food was absolutely fabulous. Everything felt like it was made with care, using good ingredients, cooked just right, and served with a smile. It’s the kind of place where comfort meets quality. What sets Red Lion apart is not just the excellent meals, but how much thought has gone into the surroundings. They offer cosy rooms for those who’d like to stay overnight, which seemed very well maintained. They also have a lovely undercover outdoor area — perfect for events or simply enjoying some fresh air while staying sheltered. All in all, a memorable visit. For anyone looking for hearty, home‑cooked food, welcoming service, and a lovely place to stay or host a function — Red Lion Inn & Restaurant truly delivers on every level.

Attended here for a Sunday lunch August time, on our way home from Marian Resort and Spa. Absolutely lovely staff, gorgeous Sunday roast, cooked to perfection and great price. We sat outside while it was a sunny day, thank you! We will come back.

Lovely staff, nothing is too much. We came for a family meal with two toddlers and they were great with them, even had a little basket of toys to help occupy them - only thing needed is a baby changing unit but thats minor. Food portions are large and the quality of the food is great. Overall really friendly family pub.

Omg after what I had seen online this place did not live up to expectations! The steak was ordered medium, came well done and solid. I only didn’t make a song and dance about it as there was very young girls serving who were nice enough but did have a clue what was going on. My mum had the chicken curry which was loaded with raw white onion and tasted like it was out of an uncle bens packet! Hahah It was bad tbh such a shame as it was my bday and they even tried to charge an extra £27 ontop of the bill even though we payd for the drinks cash! Hahah Sorry but get more experienced staff on the bar and chefs that can actually cook. Massive let down, never again. You could actually hear the residents jumping up abs down having a laugh upstairs! The pic is in the toilets 🤣🤣
