Rose & Crown Hotel

Very comfortable stay at the Rose and Crown. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size. A very lovely lady(didn't get her name) who checked us in changed our room to a room with an outside seating area which was very much appreciated. It was lovely to sit outside in the early morning and early evening with a cup of tea listening to the birds and watching the river. There were only 4 tea bags in the room but it was easy to go to reception and request more. The breakfast was delicious and not all greasy with good choices. Maybe could make people aware about the charge for the car park. We were happy to pay it but didn't know about it until we checked in. A very enjoyable stay. Thankyou.

I don't normally write reviews and I'm known to complain when needed, but I felt compelled to write one for this stunningly beautiful hotel, that I've not stopped talking about since I've got home. My childhood friend and I stayed here for 2 nights, in a 9 day trip., that we do every year, across England. We then stayed in Glastonbury and the Cotswolds. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed in, this was by far the best. The staff were excellent, professional, pleasant and nothing was too much for them, including the chamber maid. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was outstanding especially given we both suffer with our backs. The food was delicious, we are both gluten free and was pleasantly surprised at the wide range of food we could eat, to top it off, it was delicious This 12th century Inn, steeped in history with a modern twist, was enchanting. The garden views are stunning, its the most I've been relaxed for a longtime. The punting ride was the cherry on the cake and worth every penny as is the hotel. I highly recommend this place and I hope to return one day, for a longer stay. Its made me appreciate how beautiful my country is.

Delightful little inn next to a little stream. So cute and quaint, I really felt a part of the local culture. Rooms were clean and well kept, comfortable room, bouncy bed. There was no air conditioning and it was a little warm at night, thankfully the windows open. I can see why many people have weddings here, it’s really lovely.🥰

The good Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. Sheets were clean. Parking available. The bad Went for a shower in the morning before checkout and although the bathroom seemed clean at first, the bath/shower was quite dirty. I thought the area around the shelf was stained, but it was dirt. The shower hose was slimy and the shower curtain mouldy along the bottom. The pictures speak for themselves. I couldn't bear to look at the bedroom but on the surface it seemed clean. I complained, but the reception staff didn't seem particularly bothered. I paid £158 for a room with breakfast. I left disappointed.
