Shropshire Glamping - Kingfisher Pod

Shropshire

Photo: Shropshire Glamping

Twenty acres of streams, fields and woodland in rural Shropshire surround this glamping site, where four individually designed pods are scattered around a private lake. The Kingfisher Pod occupies a quiet corner between two waterways, set back from the water's edge with views across the lake from its raised decked walkway. Pine log construction, solid wooden floors and a thoughtful interior with botanical details and copper accents create a bright, spacious feel throughout the single open-plan room. Double glass doors lead onto a veranda with garden furniture and a barbecue for summer evenings.

The bedroom area contains a double bed (4ft 6in); the living space has a sofa bed, woodburner and comfortable seating. The kitchen is fitted with an induction hob, combi microwave-oven-grill and full-size fridge-freezer, so proper cooking is straightforward. A shower room with heated towel rail completes the layout. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wood for the burner are all included, along with a welcome pack. One car can park on site. The pod sleeps four and welcomes one pet free of charge; there is an unfenced lake in the grounds. For supplies, Shawbury village is ten minutes away with a small supermarket, bakery and organic farm shop. Shrewsbury, with its riverside setting and range of attractions, makes for a day-trip destination.

My family have had two visits to Shropshire Glamping, staying in the Dome. It is a magical experience and completely relaxing from the moment you arrive. The owners are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The dome is beautifully furnished and very tastefully decorated. They’ve thought of everything you could need! Love it! and we’ll all be going back.

We had a wonderful stay in the Geo-Dome for my surprise 50th birthday. Everything was perfect - the dome was very comfortable, nicely decorated, and the hot tub was fantastic. It is such a peaceful place, with otters, herons, dragonflies, etc. It is a great place to come for lots of reasons - we enjoyed the digital detox. Bob is very helpful and friendly. We would love to come again. The nursery down the road has excellent food (and plants!), and the Tiddly Arms serves a great range of local beers.

Just home from an amazing weekend here , everything was perfect, Bob the owner was super friendly and on hand for anything you could want. Every detail is thought of here , we stayed in the summer house but had the chance to look around the dome too, we will be staying again and we can not wait to come back. The most peaceful weekend away . Definitely recommend.

We loved our two night stay in the Summer House with our two dogs. It was warm, cosy and clean. The bed was comfy and the shower was brilliant. The only suggestion I'd make would be to provide coat hanging / walking boot storage as there's no where near the front door to dump wet/muddy jackets, boots and towels.
