Shropshire's countryside draws visitors for its Georgian towns, industrial heritage and walking country, all within reach of this detached lodge. The Hurstings occupies grounds that include Daniels Mill, still working as it did in the 18th century and run by the same family for over 250 years. A stream runs through the property, and the surrounding woodland valley is crossed by a 19th-century viaduct—the setting is genuinely quiet and secluded.
Inside, you get two bedrooms (one with a king bed and en-suite bath, the other with two singles and a shower room) and space to spread out across the ground floor: a living room with patio doors opening onto the garden, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with the essentials for proper cooking. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. The enclosed garden has a patio, furniture and a portable barbecue; a private hot tub is available for guests. There is parking on site, and one well-behaved dog can stay at no extra charge (with doggy extras provided).
The town centre lies a mile away with shops, a pub and restaurant quarter of a mile off. Ironbridge Gorge, Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury are all accessible by car. Golf and fishing are nearby. The property does not allow smoking.
