Woodland Escapes - The Star Dome
Shropshire
View on Google MapsPhoto: Woodland Escapes
Bowketts Wood wraps around The Star Dome, a circular structure that sits among trees on the edge of Ludlow. The curved walls and full-height windows frame the woodland, while at night you can watch the sky through the transparent sections. Inside is a single bedroom and shower room, both ground floor, with an open-plan living and kitchen area where a woodburner provides warmth. The kitchen has an electric hob, combi microwave and grill, fridge and coffee machine—enough to cook properly rather than rely on takeaways. A kingsize bed, Freesat and smart TV, wifi, and heating are all included, as are bed linen and towels. One small dog is welcome.
The hot tub outside holds two people and runs on wood fire. There's a garden area with sitting furniture and a gas barbecue, plus parking for one car. The setting is genuinely quiet—birdsong and woodland paths make up the immediate surroundings. Ludlow itself, a medieval market town with a castle above the River Teme, sits only a short drive away; the Shropshire Hills lie beyond that. No smoking inside. Children under 12 are not accommodated.

We absolutely LOVED the cabin and outdoor space.... the hot tub, was a welcomed girly add on! There was everything you could want provided, and the hosts happy to help and provided extra if needed. Didn't use pizza oven or bbq but an awesome addition and would defo use next time!

We stayed in the Star Gazing Tree Lodge. Beautiful surroundings, silent at night, woken up by the sound of bird call and animals. No disturbances from cars, passers by or anything! Wood fire kept us toasty and cosy. The pizza oven was awesome, definitely the best pizza I have ever had! Darcy was the first to welcome us on arrival to check in - made it the best check in ever... Doggo check in /meet and greet should be a thing! She was adorable 💕 Thank you Penny and co.

My husband and I stayed here recently. So desperate for a break and as a surprise birthday experience. Oh my gosh, it was so! Special. Fire pit outside, log burner inside. Boogie antique vibe/feel to the dome. Heated bed, central heating in the dome too. The kitchenette and bathroom are fancy, warm and very modern super shower. All kept superbly clean. A covered bbq area with a big bbq. Instructions for how to set up the fires, use and do everything. All the resources you need to light them and keep them going. The hot tub - our own one to use was so lovely with wonderful views. Gorgeous views from a look out bench spot of our own. Supplied locally sourced Breakfast and also ole juice, which was all top quality. Tea and coffee supplied. Pizza dough balls left for us and tomato paste and the site is only a 12 min drive from Sainsbury’s for the rest… I mean this break away was superb. We would go again and anytime.
