What guests say
Sunday lunch with friends. Was recommended for food & service. Location good in a smart Warwickshire village. Pub itself has modern classic decor, the style which is currently in favour. Nice open bar area & plenty of seating to enjoy a drink. Food better than average, but not fantastic. All had roast lunches. Vegetables good but one small jug of gravy for three? Pork good but very fatty [ and I like roast belly pork, but fat should have been crisp not soggy] The most disappointing thing was the service [ or lack of ]. Lot's of young staff milling around clearing tables and carrying food to guests, but no one was paying attention to the needs of the guests they were supposed to be waiting on. No personal interaction at all; no one smiled; we were left with finished plates for 15 minutes; waited to get someone to take a dessert order; and when coffee eventually arrived spilled into saucers? Expect one staff to serve a table, so that is part of the problem. The staff are not serving customers, they are fetching and carrying. A world away from good 'service'. Sure they won't take any notice of this as they were busy, so they will take it for granted that they are doing everything well.

An evening meal booked for five on a relatively quiet Monday. Food was good, but the service from the two young waitresses was disappointing to say the least. Part of the order didn’t arrive and when politely chased the look given was enough to turn one to stone. Their attitude left something to be desired. They were not rushed off their feet by any means and it was noticed by our whole table. Attitude makes a massive difference and theirs leaves a lot to be desired!

Absolutely fantastic experience at The Punchbowl. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. You can really tell they care about quality and customer service. A perfect place for a relaxing meal or drinks with friends — highly recommended and we’ll definitely be returning soon!

Took my mother out for mother days and it was beautiful. The roast rump beef was lovely and the staff were very attentive. The general manager was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal and will be coming back frequently. Thanks to all the team who made my Mother’s Day out special .
