Langport sits in the heart of the Somerset Levels, a landscape of water meadows and open skies that draws walkers, cyclists and bird-watchers throughout the year. The Milking Shed is one of four cottages on a quiet site nearby, offering a private base for exploring the area without the commotion of a larger resort.
Everything happens on the ground floor here. The living space centres on a bright kitchen with a full range of appliances including a dishwasher, opening into a dining area that flows through to the sitting room. That room has patio doors overlooking the owners' garden, where you can settle in front of an electric woodburner on cooler evenings. The main bedroom holds a zip-and-link super king bed (convertible to two singles on request); the second bedroom has a zip-and-link king bed with the same flexibility. A generous bathroom with a P-shaped bath and shower over completes the layout. One dog stays free, and there's secure parking for two cars plus a bike store if you've brought cycles.
The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi—are all covered. An enclosed, lawned garden gives you outdoor space, and the site is geared towards families and couples wanting somewhere self-contained. No smoking inside.

Great rural location. Great beds. Converted outbuildings with character. Outdoor chairs & tables in small courtyard - beautiful scented honeysuckle & roses. Parking. Very well equipped holiday let. Friendly host. Meadow mowed for dog walking. Can walk out to farmer's field & fishing lake. Info / games room. Fox in meadow, green woodpeckers nesting.

Cannot recommend The Tack Room highly enough. What a wonderful little cottage, providing the perfect getaway for myself, my husband and our little dog Rudy. Plenty of places to explore without having to travel too far. There are some fantastic dog friendly pubs in the area, serving lovely food. John and Caroline are a lovely couple and are super hospitable, nothing was too much trouble. We would not hesitate at recommending these beautiful, well equipped cottages. Absolutely 5⭐️

Brilliant place to stay, Caroline and John were exceptionally welcoming. The accommodation is second to none, so much so that Jan and myself could have made it our home. The area has so much to do that you are spoilt, good places to eat and drink in the area. The dogs were made very welcome and they loved the paddock area for their runs. Thanks again Caroline and John 👍👍👍
