Safe Harbour

Salcombe sits at the heart of Devon's South Hams, a stretch of coastline where the beaches, estuary views and waterfront life draw people back year after year. Safe Harbour is a three-storey townhouse within walking distance of the town's shops, restaurants and harbour, yet positioned far enough back to feel calm and private. It sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, taking in a king bed on the first floor with access to a terrace, another king on the second floor, and a bunk room that works well for children. One dog stays free.

The first floor opens into an open-plan space with a sitting area, dining table for six, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave all there. A utility room on the ground floor has a washing machine and tumble dryer, useful if you're here for more than a week or have sandy children in tow. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's a courtyard garden with seating, and public parking nearby. Note that the first-floor entrance involves 16 steps, and smoking is not permitted.

The location suits families wanting the energy of a seaside town without being right on the beach—you're a mile from the water, close enough for a daily walk down to swim or eat fish and chips, far enough that you're not hemmed in by holiday crowds. The second king bedroom and the bunk room both have estuary views; one of the bathrooms has a bath with shower overhead.
