The Old Bakery is a 16th-century listed property in Diss, South Norfolk, with original wattle and daub walls, timber frames and exposed beams throughout. Eight guests can stay in the four bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The ground floor holds a living and dining room with a 42-inch TV and working fireplace, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, combination microwave-grill, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and heating are all included; initial fuel for the fire comes with it too.
Bedrooms vary between zip-and-link kingsize beds (convertible to singles), a standard kingsize, and a double. One ensuite has a bath with shower over; the others are cubicle showers. The property is yours alone—no other guests, no staff popping in. There is parking for four cars on site and an enclosed garden with seating and a summer house. A two-step entrance leads inside; access is via a rough track. One well-behaved pet stays free. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
Pulham Market village lies close by. Diss itself offers independent shops, cafés and restaurants, plus a railway station with direct services to London and Norwich. The Norfolk and Suffolk coast is reachable for a day out, and Norwich city centre—with shopping, museums and theatre—sits 15 miles away.

There aren't the words to describe how wonderful the cottage is. Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was so generous. We enjoyed every minute. Theresa is fabulous and so patient with us old doddery who can't find the central heating controls or work out the WiFi! We had the most wonderful time. Thank you Theresa.

We stayed at The Old Bakery for two nights over the weekend. The Old Bakery is a lovely, well kept and welcoming place, set in a lovely quiet village. This was our first visit and we loved every minute of our stay. The Owners are Jim and Theresa, they are such lovely and friendly people. From the minute you arrive, to the minute you leave, you are made to feel welcome and treated like part of the family. We are so glad that we found this lovely place and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Theresa makes her own jams, marmalades, etc and they are lovely. Before we arrived we sent through our dietary requirements as one of us was Vegan and Jim and Theresa made sure that the dietary requirements were catered for. Theresa asked if we would like any specific plant based milks, meat free sausages, etc. We had an amazing lunch/hamper made by Jim and Theresa. The quality and quantity was fantastic, way beyond what we were expecting. WOW! When we arrived we were met at the door by Theresa and greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Theresa showed us to our beautiful room. Jim and Theresa had made some shortbread biscuits and they had even gone out and purchased some vegan biscuits for me. The whole stay was perfect from start to finish. We did not want to leave as it felt so homely and such a lovely environment. Jim and Theresa are amazing hosts and amazing people. The Old Bakery is such a lovely property and has a lot of history. We will be returning in the very near future. What a fantastic stay and what fantastic hosts. Thank you Jim and Theresa. Many thanks, Dave and Bev.

Theresa and Jim were such lovely people, we couldn’t of asked for more. Even under Covid circumstances we felt extremely safe and everything was very well set out. Breakfast was yummy and all fresh produce. Highly recommend - thank you both for a lovely stay.

A wonderful Bed&Breakfast! The couple running it are so friendly, the interior is absolutely beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and they put out great snacks to take during your day. We really had a great time and enjoyed our stay - 5 stars from me!
