I learnt to ride here some years ago. I returned recently to improve. I wasn't always able to have the same instructor at weekends, which presumably are peak times, which lead to inconsistency in what I was being taught. Whilst I certainly improved, I started to dread lessons as I didn't enjoy the teaching style of one instructor. The horses all look well and the yard and schools are well maintained.

Absolutely incredible service from Donna and the team. Were so accommodating with my requests and such friendly people. Would highly recommend them over other Equestrians around Southampton! Truly the best!

I have been riding for many years now and have ridden at many stables along with my sister. We were very sad our original stables had closed down and we had to find somewhere new to ride! I'd heard good things about Gleneagles so decided to check it out and ride there for a bit. Gleneagles was an okay stables overall and there are some pros and cons to the place. Pros- We were easily able to book in regular lessons and the online system is super easy to use. We were able to have a regular instructor, and Amy was great at teaching us and we enjoyed all her lessons. We were able to work on both flat work and jumping. We were also able to pick our horses for each lesson which allowed for the continuity so we could get to know the horse better which a lot of the stables around don't do. Horses are a good size for adult riders too. Cons- facilities are a bit run down. Unfortunately no indoor school! In the summer a couple of our lessons had to be cancelled due to the heat and they weren't able to facilitate it in the outdoor schools. The two outdoor schools are relatively small too. The hacking is also disappointing as there are no areas for cantering, or we were told they need permission from someone to do it It's not a particularly friendly school either, staff don't really try to get to know you even if you are regulars. They don't even ask your names! They are lacking in admin staff, they should have someone employed for the reception. Don't bother calling as they never answer the phone! Nor do they listen to answer phone messages. It's the first stables I have come across WITHOUT admin staff/receptionist which I find bizarre as they are clearly not coping without. We required a refund for a lesson due to them triple booking and we couldn't re-book for personal reasons. We didn't get this refund until 6-8 weeks later. So overall, a mixed review from me! They have some positives as mentioned, but they really need to work on their facilities and infrastructure which I have seen far better at other schools I have ridden at!
