About The Star Inn Caravan Park
The Star Inn Caravan Park is a modest-sized site with 40 pitches spread across the grounds near Southminster in Essex. It takes tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups available on most pitches. The facilities are straightforward: showers and the hook-ups themselves.
At this scale, the site occupies a middle ground between the smallest sites and the sprawling touring parks. Pitches from £18 per night. The site's size means it is unlikely to feel either remote or intensely busy, though peak season will naturally be busier than shoulder periods.

What visitors say
Great place for Sunday family pub lunch. What can I say, the staffs were very friendly, prompt in services and always ensured as a guest is always at care and looked after. We settled for an outside luate lunch. The girls ensured the table service was prompt and great. Beyond the service, the food was just awesome. Freshly prepared, full of flavours and above all fulfilling. Portion was great. Nicely presented. With ample parking this pub made our Sunday afternoon special and enjoyable.

Have to say, what a fantastic pub with excellent accommodation. My wife and I stayed for two days and had an amazing time from start to finish. The food, atmosphere, and hospitality were all first class. Five stars without hesitation—we’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

A really nice pub with a lovely atmosphere, and very friendly and helpful staff. The Sunday morning breakfast buffet is tremendous value for money and high quality food! We even turned up early and wasn't ever made to feel like we shouldn't be there, like you get with some places. We were fully welcomed and our 10-month-old baby was provided with loads of toys to keep her occupied. This is the kind of service that we need in more places! Highly recommended.

I’ve always had great experiences at The Star Inn and, to be clear, the food was absolutely fantastic on this visit too. The quality of the food, service in the restaurant, and overall atmosphere were exactly what I’ve come to expect over the years. Unfortunately, the accommodation side of our stay was a very different experience. The room we were originally allocated had issues with the heating, and we were moved to another room. However, the replacement room then had a non-functioning toilet. My partner and I tried to take it in good humour, even when it meant getting dressed in the middle of the night to use facilities elsewhere. I fully appreciate that maintenance issues can happen and that some things are outside of the staff’s control. The real disappointment has been what happened afterwards. I was promised a refund, but almost a week later it still hasn’t been processed, despite multiple emails. Worse still, those emails have largely gone unanswered. It’s a shame because one bad stay wouldn’t have put me off returning. What has left a sour taste is the lack of communication and follow-through afterwards. As a long-standing customer, I expected better.
