About Balmoral Lodge Hotel

Southport's Queens Road is home to the Balmoral Lodge Hotel, a modest 15-room property that makes a practical base for visiting the town. It's the kind of place where the basics are covered without fuss, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.

Rooms are simple, with air conditioning and drinks available, though it's worth knowing that some have been reported as tired or in need of upkeep, so don't expect a polished finish throughout. Where the hotel scores well is on value, with an affordable breakfast that guests rate highly, plus a restaurant and bar for evening meals and drinks. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for the shortcomings elsewhere. Facilities extend to a lift, free WiFi, a garden, meeting rooms, and space for weddings, and pets are welcome too.

For those travelling further afield, airport transfers can be arranged, while concierge and business services suit visitors mixing work with a stay in Southport. It's a straightforward option best suited to guests who prioritise a good breakfast and helpful service over polished surroundings.

A good value, older style hotel/ B&B with lovely friendly staff. The place is a little dated inside, but spotlessly clean. The freahly cooked & continental breakfast was only £5 each and well worth it. Plenty of off road parking to the front & garden to the rear. We would stay again

Been using this hotel for work purpose , over a year , staff's are amazing, very friendly team. Hotel is little old but well kept clean. Shower and hot water slight slow but staff always provide the extra help to resolve any issue.. short walk to the town centre, shops, few mins away to seaside beautiful view of a bridge and funfair, park etc. Highly recommend for short breaks etc

There was a significant amount of wind inside the room. The window did not close properly. There was Central heating, but it was often not working. They provided a reasonable electric heater, which, on warmest setting, together with the central heating was able to partially warm up the room. It was comfortable when there was no wind outside and getting cold when it was windy. You could also feel the wind when lying on the bed. Quite a surreal experience. The building interior and reception area are beautifully decorated and feel very old. It does feel like stepping back in history, maybe to a time when people were not so fussy. It does have double glazing and plenty of light in the room.
