Owners Nigel and Tracy have created a genuinely wildlife-friendly site—wildflower meadows attract woodpeckers and kingfishers, while two fishing lakes hold carp, bream and tench. You'll likely encounter their flock of hens too, especially entertaining at feeding time. A dedicated half-mile dog-walking area and direct access to surrounding footpaths make it ideal for stretching four-legged (and two-legged) legs.
The Sweet Delights Café serves homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes, with weekend entertainment adding a touch of liveliness. Facilities are comprehensive—hardstanding and grass pitches, accessible bathrooms, a well-stocked games room and launderette. Had a recommendation from a friend and they were not wrong. This is a lovely relaxed site with so much to offer. Whether fishing walking or just relaxing, there is something for everyone. Very kid friendly and the walks are lovely for dog owners. The Fish and chips on the Friday when we arrived were spot on! Only bettered by the Sunday lunch (worth coming just for that) The bar/dining area is rustic but charming and allows well behaved dogs which is a bonus for us when camping. Nigel and Tracey, the owners, put their heart and sole into the place and it shows! The facilities are modern and clean, Nigel never seems to stop, always busy with site maintenance, and it shows. It’s very well kept. The desserts are something special too and the care that Tracey puts into making and preparing them can be observed when dining. This has been a great camping experience for us and we will be back… if only for pudding!

50 years in hospitality and I can honestly say this site takes some beating. A very friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Just what I needed after a six hour drive. The quality ( and quantity ! ) of the delicious food on offer, was incredible. . So tasty and fresh. High quality produce and so flavoursome. Very peaceful site with private bathrooms. I HIGHY RECOMMEND this site. Open to non residents too. A rare find. If I lived nearer, I would be a regular.

We’ve recently moved to the area so wanted to try the restaurant. It’s a barn type building in a lovely setting with outdoor seating by the lake. We came on a Friday when they have fish and chips. We both ordered the large cod and it was big and chunky and very nicely cooked with lovely chips (please don’t put mint in the mushy peas). We saw some of the desserts coming out and they were huge but we just had space left for ice cream. The staff were all really lovely and efficient. We will return. Like the look of their Saturday gourmet menu (but no veggie options evident) but we would equally just pop in for drinks in this very pleasant environment.

Staying at the campsite tonight and ate in the barn with relatives who popped in to visit us. Tracy, Nigel and their team were so accommodating to our group of 9 (6 adults & 3 children). The food and service were great and we will definitely all come back and eat here again. The campsite is the perfect place for us to stay when visiting relatives. Thank you for a lovely evening.
