About Smiddy House
Smiddy House is an old house with genuine character, set in Spean Bridge and furnished throughout in a country style that gives it the feel of a home rather than a hotel. Bedrooms are en-suite, some can be booked as a self-contained option, and there's a garden to sit out in when the weather allows.
Food is one of the house's strong points, with a restaurant serving Scottish dishes alongside a bar for a drink before or after dinner. Breakfast is included, packed lunches can be arranged for a day out, and drinks can be brought to the room. Free WiFi, 24 hour reception, luggage storage and free on-site parking cover the practical side, and pets are welcome.
Spean Bridge itself is a good base for exploring the surrounding Highlands, with Ben Nevis and Fort William both within reach. Locally there's walking country on the doorstep, plus fishing, golf, horse riding and watersports nearby, along with pubs and restaurants for evenings out.

Clean, comfortable, friendly and the owners were lovely too. Only stayed one night as we needed accommodation close to the station to fit in with a friend's last Munro at Corrour. Owners were very helpful and allowed us to drop bags off early and leave the car for the day. Recommended :)

If you've been lucky enough to stumble upon this B&B, don't hesitate to book it. Craig and Emma are warm and friendly hosts, and they will make your stay delightful. The rooms are exactly as you see online. The beds are very comfortable. The towels are extra fluffy and soft. The shower is exceptionally good. The whole place is spotlessly clean. The breakfast is delicious, and the guest lounge is very comfortable. At the time of writing this review, they do not offer evening meals. They do have a selection of drinks available for purchase, and the bar is open until 9pm. I booked direct for the best price and received a discount for a two night stay and a discount for solo occupancy. Highly recommended.

Craig and Emma are very welcoming and attentive hosts. The rooms are very nice, albeit modest in size. Pleasant lounge and breakfast area. Breakfast was excellent, really good choice for the size of the accommodation, super cooked breakfast. If you're doing the Great Glen Way, they also offer pick up/drop off at a few locations for a very reasonable price.
