My partner & l arrived on Monday 20th of July, leaving on Friday 24th. Absolutely fantastic service from all staff from reception to house keepers & the restaurant 😀 We could not of been made more welcome 😀 the breakfast was amazing everything you could ask for, from yogurts, variety of different seeds, fruits & a selection of pastry’s, pancakes, and the best cooked breakfast.😀 The food is truly fantastic 😀 This hotel also has a poole, Jacuzzi and sauna. We absolutely loved our stay and would like to thank everyone for making us feel so welcome. We highly rate this hotel. And the beach is across the road, what more could you ask for. And would 100% stay again 😀

I would have given the hotel de Normandie 5 stars for their indoor swimming pool alone! 🤩 Which was a welcome retreat after a hot day of sightseeing. The pool and surrounding area were clean, with fresh towels provided for swimmers. The water was a perfect temperature. There is a large jacuzzi next to the pool and a sauna room next door. The hotel staff were excellent, especially the ladies in Reception, 😁 who were very welcoming and helpful. The staff during the breakfast service were also fantastic. The breakfast is buffet style with an enormous selection of hot and cold food, absolutely recommend the breakfast. The hotel room and bed were clean and comfortable. We were on the 2nd floor with a side seaview. The hotel is in an excellent location on the seafront about a 25 minute walk from the centre of St Helier, but there are regular buses that stop right outside the hotel or Taxis. There are many great restaurants close by, we tried the White Horse pub across the road which was lovely. The only disappointment and the reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was the shower in our room. Unfortunately it trickled out ar a snail's pace and as the weather was so hot during our stay we wanted to use the shower several times. Sadly that was disappointing! I hope that this is something that can be easily fixed, because it was a really enjoyable stay.

We arrived at the hotel around 11:00 a.m., even though check-in was scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The staff kindly accommodated us and provided a room immediately, which we truly appreciated after arriving early. The receptionists were very accommodating, helpful, and kind throughout our stay. They were always smiling and approachable, and when we requested an iron for our clothes, they quickly assisted us. When we first entered the room it felt a little cold, but the receptionist calmly explained that because we arrived earlier than the usual check-in time, the room had not yet fully warmed up. This was very understandable, and we appreciated the clear explanation. During our stay we noticed a few minor things that may simply need some maintenance attention, such as the overhead light not working, the shower water pressure being a bit low, and the toilet sometimes needing more than one flush. The lighting in the room was also a bit dim for reading. We didn’t raise these at the time as the staff seemed busy, but we wanted to share them as helpful feedback for future improvements. What truly stands out about this hotel is the excellent customer service. The staff are friendly, professional, and very helpful, which made our stay pleasant and comfortable. Their positive attitude and willingness to assist guests are definitely a big asset to the hotel. With a few small maintenance checks across the rooms, the overall guest experience could be even better. Thank you to the wonderful staff for their warm and welcoming service.

Let me begin by saying Hotel de Normandie has great service and great location. Staff and reception are friendly and accommodating, EXCEPT for one! FARIA - The restaurant BREAKFAST Manager! He made our experience and stay horrible! First day, we got there, we were early, barely anyone in the restaurant and he assigned us to a 2 seater table in some cramp corner. we told him we are expecting 1 or 2 guest to join us and he assigned us to a 4seater table at the entrance far away from the food, when we expressed our desire to sit near the food, he got annoyed and refused and told us to sit where he assigned us! I stood my ground and said no, there was barely anyone in there and there are plenty of tables. He relented but clearly showed us he was annoyed, he wanted us to pay for the extra guests first before he would sit us on the said table, we said we will, when they arrive because we don’t know if both of them are going to make it or just one. He went on his irrelevant annoyances about catering to this uncertainty saying the restaurant is busy, etc! HE WAS RUDE!!! You thought that was the end of it? No! The next day, same thing happened, he was passive aggressive to us, didn’t even say good morning, just asking us straight on “how many of you this time?” Because he can’t deal with the same thing that happened the day before. He just waved his hand and rudely said “sit wherever you want”! Same thing, he wanted us to pay for the extra guest even when they weren’t there yet, good thing we didn’t because they ended up not coming for breakfast because of the experience we had with him the day before. When my husband spoke to him to not treat people that way, he arrogantly said “I don’t need this job, i’m retired, I’m just doing this to help the boss” my husband told him “well don’t, you’re not helping, you are hurting the business!” We have traveled and stayed in a lot of hotels in various different countries & cities, whether be it grand or budget ones, we have never been treated this way, until now with this breakfast manager who has supposedly had 48 years in this hospitality service! Apparently, HE DIDN’T LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT HOSPITALITY! At least, not to people with a differently coloured skin than him! Yes, i went there! I asked him if he has a problem with us, why he’s treating us differently? Is it the colour of our skin? And he acted shocked and patronisingly said “oh no I love Filipinos, most of my staff are Filipinos, if i could choose I want no one else but Filipinos!” and i clapped back and said “Exactly that, you forgot we are paying customers & hotel guests, we are not your staff!”
