About Irondale Touring Caravans and Campsite
Dart off to Derbyshire and make for Irondale Touring Caravans and Campsite in Stanton by Dale, a well-kept adults-only site attached to an award-winning pub. The name nods to the village's industrial heritage – if 'Stanton' rings a bell, it may well be because it crops up on manhole covers across the UK.
Nowadays, things are peaceful around here, and the tiny site is set between traditional red brick houses and a small village green. The Chequers Inn is over 200 years old and still in fine fettle, its selling point remaining its focus on real ales and proper home-cooked food. The pub, like the site, is mightily dog-friendly, so don't hesitate to bring four-legged friends along. The level, well-drained pitches are conveniently located to the rear of the pub, and although it's close to the M1, off-site strolls are unlikely to involve busy roads – you're just minutes from footpaths through pleasant fields and hills.
Note that there's no hot water on site, and children under 14 aren't permitted.

Third time staying on one of the caravan pitches in the field behind the Chequers Inn. Lovely clean spacious pitches with picnic tables and umbrellas. Food in pub is excellent but has to be ordered day before. Ken the Harris Hawk is usually on his perch nearby and there are 2 beautiful Daschounds who like to come and say hello when you visit the pub. The owners, staff and locals are very friendly. Pub toilets are available 24 hours. Plenty of walks nearby and a great place to relax.

Small camping facility attached to pub. 24hr toilet facilities. No shower facilities. Friendly people in the pub and enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast dinner. Electric hook up and camping plot were lovely, quiet and secluded.Would definitely recommend for campervan/motorhomes with their own bathrooms

Great Gem of a find, great Staff and fantastic food. Only 5 pitches and EHU on your pitch and drinking water near by, with waste disposal just up at the top of the pubs carpark. The pitches are closed off with a large gate and the pub has a further gate after closing hours. The food needs to be ordered by noon on the day of eating but isn't a problem as the food it really really good trust be. Quiet site and very friendly, Will be returning.

Very nice 5 pitch site with EHU and grey water drain on each Hardstanding pitch. Entrance to site is a bit tight. Pub looked lovely, but we did not eat there as you have to choose and book your meals the day before.
