Southview Farm

Words aren’t enough to express how beautiful and maintained this site is. We originally booked Thursday and Friday night and decided to extend up until Monday and are hoping to now stay until Wednesday. The pitched are well spaced out and the surroundings are maintained excellent. The owners are lovely friendly people and the owners son John is a delightful young man who we spoke to allot making us feel at home. The views are picturesque and the atmosphere is calm and quiet. The toilets and pot washing area are immaculate regularly cleaned with lovely powerful hot showers and hot running water to wash pots. Bins are kept tidy not over flowing and although we didn’t stay in the pods they look beautiful and will definitely in the future. Some lovely food places surround in local villages and stokesley high street is a 5 minute drive that has lots to offer. There are plenty of walking and biking opportunities. I would highly recommend this site to anybody, it’s only 20 minutes from home for us but felt like we had travelled a long way for the reset we needed. Thank you to the owners and to the others making our stay so enjoyable. We honestly wasn’t wait to be back!

We have just arrived back from a weekend staying in The Carlton. We were met by Dave on arrival and immediately felt welcomed and looked after. Dave showed us to our pod and allowed us to get settled then came back to show us how to use the facilities including the hot tub. Everything was clean and equipped. There was towels provided, washing up liquid/cloths and the pod was equipped with everything we needed. The site was clean and very peaceful with the most amazing views. Dave came to our pod every morning to check the hot tub and was on hand to answer any questions we had. There was a folder provided within the pod full of lots of info from how to use the hob down to personal recommendations for places to eat in the area which was a lovely touch. There was tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits provided within the pod along with milk in the fridge. The hot tub was really enjoyable and had been set to a lower temperature for us to enjoy, which was amazing given the weather was 28 degrees. There was lots of places to visit all within a reasonable driving distance around the site. We were given a recommendation from Dave for Sunday Lunch at The Black Swan which was delicious and only a 5 minute drive from the site. Dave notified us that we could purchase logs for the fire pit including a pack to get the fire started, this was only £15 and another lovely touch. The site is very well maintained, there are extra facilities including a shower block for those who are camping. The Carlton was a great size including the most comfortable double bed, separate bathroom and a kitchen with a toaster, kettle, microwave, hob and a fridge with a small freezer compartment. We have really enjoyed our weekend so much so we are booking to return again very soon. South View Retreat comes highly recommended. We have been really well looked after and nothing was too much trouble.

Just recently stayed in The Wainstones pod for my boyfriend’s birthday it’s such a lovely little getaway. The pod itself could do with a little TLC I know it’s dog friendly but I do think it could do with a little upgrade. The main issue for us was the huge gap on the front door which let a draft through overall great experience and would definitely stay there again.

Just had a lovely weekend away at this beautiful camper site! Great warm welcome, the boss in the caravan was on hand to help with dog walks, taxi tips and where to find the nearest country pub - thank you. Sparkly clean facilities and if tou want a peaceful weekend with good views and friendly staff its your place :)
