The Hovel sits in open countryside between the Burton Dassett Hills and the village of Fenny Compton, where sheep graze the surrounding fields. Originally a shelter for livestock, this barn conversion offers a complete ground-floor space for two: a bedroom with a king bed, shower room, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with full-length windows facing the hills. Everything you need for self-catering is here, from a dishwasher and induction hob to a washer-dryer, plus heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included.
From the front courtyard you can watch the landscape change through the seasons—lambs appear in spring, and narrowboats move along the nearby Oxford Canal. Fenny Compton, a short walk away, has two pubs and a shop. The Burton Dassett Hills are on your doorstep for country walks and picnics, while Banbury and Royal Leamington Spa lie within easy reach for shopping and dining. Farnborough Hall, a National Trust property, is just over two miles away. There are three steps leading into the garden. The property has parking for two cars, including an electric charging point. No smoking inside.

We spent a couple of nights here courtesy of my daughter and her wonderful boyfriend for our 30th wedding anniversary. The Hovel is very well appointed and beautifully furnished. Completely private with a patio, we really enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend. It was only renovated in 2021 so everything was beautifully thought out and restored.
