About Phillips Farm
Set among rural fields on the edge of Thetford Forest Park, Phillips Farm delivers a proper back-to-basics camping experience with a wild-camping vibe. Long-drop loos in the woods, a washing-up station and chemical waste disposal keep things functional, while open fires are positively encouraged – wood and kindling are available on site, so you can gather round the flames after dark. Major supermarkets in Mildenhall (10 minutes) cover supplies, or skip the cooking and head to one of the many country pubs dotted along quiet Suffolk lanes.
Families can try wild swimming or boating on the Little Ouse at Santon Downham, and forest trails start practically on your doorstep. Just be aware that RAF Lakenheath is 15 minutes away – F15s take off on weekday mornings around 8am, which some campers love and others find less welcome as an alarm call. Nearby boarding kennels can also be heard at feeding time, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs alongside the marshmallows.

Lovely campsite. Very quiet, very well maintained. Lovely secluded wood 🌲🌲 areas, it's an absolute delight here. Maybe occasional noise from the nearby doggy day care 🐕🐩 but that's because it's either feeding time or collection time (and it's not loud, ongoing or even annoying) but apart from that, you don't even know they're there. Jet planes go over the campsite too, which are really loud. My husband and I didn't mind this at all. We loved it. Seeing them go through the air, flying near the campsite at low altitude because they had just taken off, and us, sitting in our camping chairs watching these, was absolutely brilliant ✈️ The owner came over to check us in. He was very welcoming, chatty, polite and happy 👍☺️ a really nice guy. Plenty of walks and wildlife. Highly recommend coming here but if you don't like aircraft it's not for you.

Had a great camping experience here with our Scouts. The site has basic toilet and drinking water with washing up sinks. It's very much cater for yourself while you are here but it's a great location. Emma and Steve, who run it, are beautiful people, can't do enough to help you. If you want to get back to basics then this is a good choice. If you want all the bells and whistles attached to your campsite, look elsewhere.

I stayed here for 5 nights in my campervan last week. The site is lovely and, despite the noise from American jets taking off, was both peaceful and relaxing. The facilities are sufficient and very clean and the grounds are well maintained with little evidence of any previous campers i.e. no litter, no damage etc. The welcome was warm and full information about best places to pitch, the facilities etc. was given. I will be back!

Great campsite. Solo camping for the night - felt very safe. Owners were very welcoming and helpful (even charged my phone for me as my charger was playing up). Options for camping out in the open or within the glades of woodland planted by the owners around 13 years ago. The perfect little getaway for some peace and quiet. Would 100% come back.
