About The Carew Arms
Crowcombe sits at the foot of the Quantock Hills, surrounded by the walking and cycling routes that make this stretch of Somerset so well loved, and The Carew Arms makes the most of that setting with a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days. It's a pub first and a hotel second, with the beams, open fires and cosy corners you'd want from a village inn, and rooms that keep things simple with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available, and free WiFi throughout.
The kitchen is the heart of the place, turning out steaks, Sunday roasts and homemade dishes alongside a solid range of ales and ciders, served by staff who are consistently friendly and attentive. Breakfast is included, and there's a bar for an evening pint whether or not you're staying over. Meeting rooms are available for anyone combining business with the countryside.
Beyond the front door there's horse riding, golf and further pubs and restaurants within easy reach, plus plenty of walking country on the doorstep. Pets are welcome, and 24 hour reception means arrival times don't need to be planned around the front desk.

Always great ale and food here. Booked for 10 of us, Sunday lunch in a private room for a birthday and it was just fabulous. The service, the food and drink options were fantastic. Really recommend this pub for a special occasion, meet up with family and friends or just a quick pint.

Great pub but I'd probably not come here again for food, which is a shame because I do like the place. If you're going to charge £28 for a rump steak, I'd expect it to be amazing. Unfortunately I had to send the first back as it was ridiculously over-cooked (asked for it rare and it was past being well-done) and although the replacement they brought out was an improvement, it was not close to being £28 worth. Staff were friendly enough and like I said, brilliant pub. Just didn't enjoy the food.

A bit of a surprise. Came here after other pubs had stopped serving food. Had the venison from the specials board. It was so tender and cooked perfectly. The other half had the Lamb which was equally as good. The deserts were different but very tasty. Service was brilliant too. Definitely worth a visit.
