Badrallach sits on the north shore of Little Loch Broom on the remote Scoraig peninsula, reached by a single-track road off the A832, and is regularly cited as one of the most peaceful and picturesque campsites in Scotland. The open field and a scattering of more sheltered, hidden pitches sit right above the shore, with views across the loch to An Teallach and the surrounding hills, and wildlife including red deer, pine martens and golden eagles regularly seen from the site.
Unlike many touring parks, Badrallach is deliberately simple: a mix of non-electric and electric grass pitches, basic shower and toilet facilities, and a small gas-lit bothy available to rent alongside the camping and a self-catering holiday cottage. There is no shop or pool on site, and mobile signal is limited, which is very much part of the appeal for visitors after a genuinely remote stay away from the busier North Coast 500 stopping points. Dogs are welcome, and the site is open year-round for those prepared for the more basic facilities out of season.
The drive in along the shore of Little Loch Broom is part of the experience, and the site's isolation means it suits campers and campervanners more than large touring caravans on tighter tracks. It makes a memorable one or two-night stop for anyone touring Wester Ross, with Ullapool's shops, restaurants and ferry a manageable drive away when needed.
