Saffron Hall is a substantial period property on the outskirts of a well-served village, offering enough room for extended families or groups of friends to holiday together without feeling cramped. Seven bedrooms across two storeys accommodate up to 14 guests, with two bathrooms plus a ground-floor cloakroom to manage the practicalities. The layout works well for multi-generational stays: downstairs there is a drawing room, a separate sitting room, a games room and a cinema room for entertainment, alongside a formal dining space and a kitchen with an Aga that sets the tone for shared meals and unhurried cooking.

Outside, an acre of mature gardens provides a peaceful, enclosed setting with space for children to play, established trees for shade and garden furniture for lingering outdoors. A barbecue is ready for summer eating. The house has WiFi, mains heating and all the essentials—bed linen, towels and electricity are included. There is parking on the property. The village itself sits within easy reach of Saffron Walden, where independent shops, cafes and local history can be explored on foot or by car, and country lanes around the property invite longer rambles.

No smoking inside the property. Dogs are welcome.

I want to see folk in foyer. What a lovely venue. Loved that they had local beer (sadly was driving) and local ice cream in!

I attended a classicl music concert. Most of the seating (the stalls) are tiered so you get a good view of the stage. The acoustics are excellent and the seating comfortable. There were refreshments in the interval. The only downside is getting out of the car park/overflow parking afterwards - it takes ages as there is only one narrow exit. However they do operate a shuttle bus from Audley Ned station if you prefer to do that.

Great Glen Miller Orchestra concert. Particularly enjoyed Christmas songs at the end. Plenty of parking space. Will definitely return.

This is the favourite venue of my friend's and I because of the proximity to our city, Cambridge, they bring the best orchestras, is a bigger stage than what we have at home, the acoustics are really good and the organisation of the place is top notch. My friends are more knowledgeable about the qualities I have described since two of them are piano teachers and another one is an advanced piano student. All of them love the venue. About myself, I am in my 3rd year of piano and am in my 2 year of singing and love the place too. The only thing I would like to see improvement is the exit of the car park. It would be nice to have another extra exit.

People say this concert hall offers excellent acoustics, comfortable seating with good views of the stage, and a wide range of events. They also highlight the plentiful and free parking, as well as the clean and modern facilities. Others also mention the friendly staff and reasonable prices for tickets, drinks, and snacks.
