Beautiful castle remains located a short drive from Wakefield centre. Lots of history to the place, the scene of the battle of Wakefield. Fantastic views from the top. Nice walk, dog friendly place. Cafe on site with toilets for customers. Very small car park though you can park on the road outside. Please don't climb on the actual remains of the castle as we saw someone do, so please respect the place.

Nice place to take the dog walking. has a small carpark for around 10 cars but when we visited there was only 3 other cars in so there should be space for most visitors. The castle grounds and carpark are free. And there's a nice cafe but it was closed today when I visited. Apparently closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Giving this place a solid 4 stars out of 5.

Very peaceful environment, the perfect place to visit when the sun's out. Cafe was great with reasonable pricing. Amazing views all around and clean paths for walking. Ample free parking available and easy to reach location.

a free castle with history. and a free parking space up to 20-25 cars. a quiet place to relax and have a good time with family. really enjoyed. it would be a big castle before i guess. now we can see only some of pieces that were protected
