About Warwickshire Wild Camping
Tucked away on a remote hilltop near Compton Verney, this tiny wild-camping spot delivers spectacular views over south Warwickshire's rolling countryside, lakes and woodland. With just a handful of non-electric grass pitches, campfires allowed and a peaceful forest setting, it's a proper escape for anyone craving quiet and big skies. The covered communal area offers fridge-freezers, microwave, kettle and games, while accessible bathrooms and well-lit paths make it more welcoming than many wild sites.
Compton Verney Art Gallery and its Capability Brown–designed grounds sit just a 25-minute walk away, and Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon and Royal Leamington Spa are all within 20 minutes by car. Despite the remote feel, local pubs are a few minutes' drive and shops around 10. Some visitors note the site can feel basic in places, but for those after star-studded nights, wild swimming nearby and genuine seclusion, it's hard to beat.

What visitors say
Lovely quiet campsite with basic but clean sanitation and river access for paddling, dipping, fishing and maybe swimming when not in drought. We were there during peak season with perfect weather and the site was sparsely populated with universally friendly folk. Great for kids, but I bet great without kids too! This year we were very happy to get the pitch we had coveted on our visit last summer. On-site staff if you need them (we didn’t). Fires allowed (we definitely did!). We hope to return soon!

We had a great stay at this campsite. The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained. There aren't many of them, but they are kept in very good condition. The location is fantastic, and the owner is incredibly helpful – if you have a problem, you're never left to deal with it alone. One of the highlights was having access to the river. During our stay it was 32°C, so being able to cool off by the water made the experience even better. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I feel a bit mixed about this campsite. Beautiful setting in the countryside. I found it noisy at night (other campers) but could have been because we were close to the toilets. Facilities very basic for the cost per person per night and I personally didn't find the toilets etc very clean. My son has been quite sick since we returned home which I hope is a coincidence as he had been in the river too. All in all, a mixed feeling about it. I gave it 2 for service as it was easy enough to book but there was nowhere to check in and I dont know if the owners were there or not.

This is a popular wild camping site situated next to a little river. There is no set arrival time and you select you own pitch. Toilets and showers on site, but limited to 4 for the whole site. Fire pits and logs available. A lovely site, just 8 mins from Aldi and B & M meaning you don't have to go to far to buy essentials. No electricity on this site, but a lovely back to nature, family friendly site.
