Pooley Bridge sits at the foot of Ullswater Lake in the Lake District, where the village has retained its character despite its popularity. Finkle Cottage occupies a quiet spot within walking distance of the water, yet remains central enough that a pub, shop and restaurant are barely 100 yards away. The detached house is yours alone, with private parking and an enclosed garden.

Three bedrooms sleep six: upstairs there's a king bed, a double, and two singles, served by a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, a living room and a separate snug both have multi-fuel burners for warmth on cooler evenings. The conservatory provides extra space, and the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with electric cooking, dishwasher and the other essentials. Wi-Fi, heating, linen and towels are all included. The garden has seating areas and room to move around.

This suits families or groups wanting to explore the fells, try watersports, or simply sit by the lake. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

The cottage is in a super location for Pooley Bridge and the surrounding area with ample parking for 2 cars. The garden is enclosed safe children and those who have dogs like ourselves. There's also a gate giving you access to a field for the dogs to run around with access to the river (and pub), assuming no livestock in the field. Yes, the field is used over the weekend for parking it didn't bother us at all. We had great weather high 20s the cottage was cool downstairs, but we were very warm upstairs. we prepared and brought fans. I suggest you also bring them along none in the cottage, not a huge problem just advise. We used the outside table a lot high 20s it could do with an umbrella we were shuffling around when one person got too hot i know it's a novelty too much sun in the lakes still we we couldn't get any shade. The cottage is fabulous we certainly would come back it fitted our needs perfectly this is even with the cottage requiring a little tlc to bring it upto scratch like cold taps loose and dripping along with a few cracked floor tiles and stains on the rugs.

Lovely cottage great location. Dog friendly. The bird feed the owners left was a nice touch.
