Chelworth Shepherds Huts - Birch Shepherds Hut
Wiltshire
View on Google MapsBirch is a traditional shepherds hut built in the style of a Romani caravan, set on 63 acres of farmland near Swindon. The single bedroom sleeps two in a double bed, with a wet room offering shower and toilet. Everything sits at ground level, reached by a short flight of steps. The hut is yours alone—a private escape with its own sitting area in the grounds and parking for one car on site.
The compact kitchen has a combined microwave, oven and grill, plus a fridge, kettle and toaster, so you can cook simply or prepare cold food. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with heating and electricity. One well-behaved pet can stay as long as it remains on a lead. The grounds include a barbecue, shared children's play area, and a communal lodge. Smoking is not permitted inside the hut. Access is via a footpath, and the property sits among paddocks and horse livery—so expect to see working animals and tractors as part of farm life.
The Cotswold Water Park lies within reach for exploration, and the farmland itself offers space for walking. The setting suits anyone wanting quiet and disconnection from screens, though the communal facilities and presence of other huts mean this is not complete isolation. There is a fenced pond on the land.
