What visitors say
Booked a private full service party here. Fantastic experience, lovely staff did absolutely everything for us with enthusiasm and greeted everyone as they arrived. Great layout to the cafe area that lets everybody mingle whilst watching the kids play. Good value, perfect for small parties with under 20 kids.

Visited today with my daughter and her friend. The lady with the black hair in a ponytail (the manager I presume) can come across quite rude. The children sat on one of the sofas next to our table to take a quick drink from playing and within seconds they were being told to move off it even though the place was virtually empty! I did witness others families getting the same telling off. A little while later children saw a bird feeder just outside the window with a little bird feeding, they were memorised and stood up against the window to watch - again almost immediately they were sternly told to get down by the same woman (even though I was stood with them supervising) Also Food and drinks are very expensive for the quality of what you get. By the end of the session we had completely enough and left. I doubt that we will ever return.

Overall, I’d give this 3 stars — the kids had a great time, but the parents (who are paying!) could definitely be treated better. We booked the Playbarn for a joint birthday party for my daughter and her best friend. From the second we walked in, we were asked if we were part of the party and then quite abruptly told we needed to sit at the back and mustn’t sit at the front. No issue with the rule at all — but the delivery definitely had “you shall not pass” energy. It actually became a running joke, with every parent arriving afterwards laughing about how they’d been warned not to go near the front. The party itself was great — the kids loved it. Play equipment: good, standard soft play Food: typical party buffet (half eaten, half abandoned!) Ice cream: a big hit 🍦 Disco, bubbles and foam party: brilliant and definitely the highlight — especially for the girls On ordering my second round of drinks, I asked for a cup of boiling water (along with five other drinks) — fully expecting, and happy, to pay for it. This somehow turned into a bit of a saga, with the assumption I wanted it for free and my request initially being refused. In the end, I had to suggest “just charge me for a tea without the teabag,” which worked — but it felt like a lot of unnecessary fuss and jumping to conclusions for a very simple request. At the end of the party, I asked if myself and the other birthday girl’s family could stay on for a drink while the kids carried on playing (asked politely, not demanded). Before I’d even finished my sentence: “No. Party ends at 4.” Fair enough — rules are rules. But once it became clear we were planning to buy more drinks, the stance suddenly became a bit more… flexible 👀 We completely understand the party ends at 4, but the delivery was unnecessarily abrupt. In the end, it put us off staying, so we left — which is a shame, as you probably missed out on a few more rounds of drinks and snacks in your final hour, and we wouldn’t have been taking space from other customers. Some of the staff were genuinely lovely, but one in particular (who I assume was the manager) really let the experience down. Kids had a brilliant time 🎉 Parents felt like they were on a very strict seating plan 😅 With a bit more warmth in customer service, this could easily be a 5-star experience. Note to the manager: customers are your friends, not your enemy. A little kindness and respect goes a long way — we weren’t asking for freebies, just happy to pay our way without the conflict 😁

We booked the exclusive party for my son’s 3rd birthday. Everyone was so helpful and took the stress off us. So professional and friendly. We are definitely going to book again for next year as well as have play sessions from now until then. Thank you to all the stay at play barn! X

Some reviews mention the food can be overpriced.
