Beyond that, the wider Filey and Bridlington coastline has a much larger concentration of caravan and camping sites, many geared toward families and touring caravans, making the coast the more practical base for a longer camping trip with Wold Newton visited as a day-trip inland.

The terrain itself makes for pleasant, if occasionally exposed, camping country: the chalk valleys shelter some pitches from the wind that sweeps across the open wold-tops, but there is little tree cover generally, so a good-quality tent matters more here than in wooded parts of the country.
