About Lock Keeper by Marstons Inns
Lock Keeper by Marstons Inns takes its name from the waterway it sits beside on Sandy Lane in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, and that riverside position is very much part of its appeal, with a garden and outdoor seating area making the most of the setting. The hotel combines a working pub-restaurant with straightforward, comfortable accommodation, making it a practical base whether you're passing through or staying a few nights in the area.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, and family and accessible rooms are available alongside standard doubles. Drinks can be brought to the room, and breakfast is served each morning, with the restaurant and bar open for meals through the day, including kids' menus for younger guests. Free on-site parking and 24-hour reception add to the convenience, and luggage storage is on hand for those breaking up a longer journey.
Beyond the inn itself, guests will find a golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with local entertainment options, making it easy to fill an evening without travelling far. It's a no-frills option that works best for those wanting a comfortable room and a decent meal close to the water, rather than a luxury stay.
Guests mention the hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms and a wide variety of tasty food options, including a carvery and freshly cooked breakfast. They also highlight the friendly, helpful staff and the convenient on-site parking.
Some reviews mention the service can be slow.
