Whispering Place

Wyre Forest

Photo: Google Maps

Whispering Place spreads across three floors in historic Bewdley. On the ground floor, a living and dining room opens into a kitchen equipped for actual cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, air fryer and coffee machine all there. The first floor holds a bedroom with a super king bed and its own shower room. Up again on the second floor are two more bedrooms, one with a super king bed and one with a king bed, served by a family bathroom with a bath and shower. Two bathrooms between three bedrooms means no morning queues. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all covered.

The building is Grade II listed and dates from the Georgian era. It once operated as a bakery, then a butchers, and later a sweet shop—the bones of those businesses are still visible in the bones of the place itself. Bewdley sits on the Severn and the Severn Valley Railway runs steam trains from near here; a short walk takes you to the river itself, and the Bewdley Museum with its gardens is equally close. The West Midlands Safari Park is a three-minute drive. Pubs and restaurants cluster in the town, and the street where Whispering Place stands has that quieter village feel despite being in the centre. On-road parking is available. No smoking inside the property.
