About Roma Rose
What a place to be – tucked into the middle of the Howardian Hills with fresh herbs growing in pots, a chimenea and a large firepit for cooking or warming evening chats. This is a calm haven indeed: a hammock swaying under an ash tree, heaps of green space and gorgeous countryside views stretching away. It's a private field well away from noise, and with no light pollution you're treated to spectacular stargazing on clear nights.
Those Howardian Hills slopes and pastures make for excellent walking, with fabulous footpaths starting locally. The village shop is a mile away for picnic supplies, and there are a handful of pubs within 15 minutes' drive. The North York Moors National Park lies half an hour north, though you may be tempted to linger at Roma Rose instead.
A communal kitchen hut provides fridge, cooking utensils and crockery for basic brews and meals, plus there's a composting loo and a warm shower. With just a handful of pitches, dogs welcome and barbecues encouraged, it's a proper wildish escape near York.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing weekend away. The guest book has some fantastic suggestions for some local farm shops and cafés. The pods are small but well designed. If you're using the hot tub take some extra towels with you! The only reason I've not given this 5 stars is because the mattress should have been replaced about 5 years ago, it was exceptionally uncomfortable. Everything else was brilliant and I would return... if the bed was better

Booked a weekend for my wife's birthday. Absolutely beautiful place, spotlessly clean, everything you need is there, the quality and finish from outside to inside couldn't be better and the service and welcome from Natalie was second to none. We stayed an extra night and left early for work on the Monday and it was perfect. We will without doubt be back.

A lovely getaway for our Anniversary. The pod was clean and spacious, good location, brilliant views. Could not fault our hosts Natalie and Mick, a lovely couple. Natalie put a banner up and rose petals on the bed for our anniversary which were cute, this made it more personal to us. There are small complimentary details such as fresh milkshakes, tea bags and milk. Also provide towelling ropes for when you get out of the hot tub. There is a small seating area outside, grounds are tidy. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Good value for money. Thanks again Natalie and Mick!
