Tucked into 10 acres of peaceful parkland near York, Yor Hideaway is an adults-only haven where mature oaks frame non-electric grass pitches and birdsong replaces bustle. There are no showers—just toilets, drinking water and washing-up facilities—so pack accordingly, but the pared-back vibe suits those craving a wilder, simpler escape. Dogs on leads are welcome, and raised barbecues get the green light.
The real bonus is location: Bubwith village sits five minutes away for pub meals, a farm shop and provisions, while the site backs directly onto an 18-hole golf course complete with bar, restaurant, indoor pool and spa. Market towns Howden and Market Weighton make easy 15-minute runs for supplies or browsing, and York itself is half an hour up the road.
It's remote enough to feel properly off-grid, yet civilisation never strays far—ideal if you want solitude without total sacrifice.

We have just returned home from an amazing weekend away at Petes hideaway. This was a present for my 30th birthday. The hideaway Is perfect in every way. Very clean, spacious and very dog friendly. The outside areas to the cabins are amazing. We dined outside both evenings and enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. The hot tub was just as good too. The outdoor space is brilliant for the dogs, we even let ours off the lead which is not something there used to. Pete is a brilliant host greeted us in and to our lodge, showed us were everything was and how it worked. We will definitely be back. Special mention to Petes spaniel Harvey who greeted us on a morning and even spent the day with us yesterday - beautiful dog we will miss him. Thanks again Pete x

Stumbled across this amazing place and we were not disappointed. If you are looking for a place to relax then you have found it! The cabin has been finished off so beautifully. Such a comfy place and the outdoor tub and TV is just amazing. The local golf club is great for lunch. We will be back!
