Auchmedden Cottage

Auchmedden Cottage sits on a single ground floor, so you step straight into the heart of things. The living room and kitchen flow together as one space, with a woodburner warming the room and a 43-inch smart TV for quieter evenings. The kitchen has everything you need for self-catering: electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. From here, two double bedrooms and a bathroom branch off—a straightforward layout that works well for families or pairs of friends. One pet is welcome, and there is private parking for two cars.

The cottage dates back over 100 years and has kept its period character—original doors, wood panelling and stone floors—while the bathroom and kitchen are properly fitted out. An enclosed garden with lawn, patio, firepit and BBQ extends the living space outdoors, and there's a bike store if you've brought yours. WiFi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; fuel for the woodburner is too. A travel cot and highchair are on hand if needed.

The property overlooks Pennan Bay from an elevated position, with the beach at Aberdour just over a mile away. The north Aberdeenshire coast holds quiet villages like Crovie and Gardenstown, and slightly further afield are Banff and Macduff with their shops, restaurants and Duff House. Fraserburgh has its Museum of Scottish Lighthouses. The RSPB reserve at Troup Head is four miles off, and several golf courses sit within reach. No smoking inside.
