Aberdeenshire

Mill Shore Cottage is a one-storey property on a working farm, positioned high enough to command unobstructed views across the bay below. The cottage sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Pennan, a village famous for its appearance in the film Local Hero, on a stretch of Aberdeenshire coastline marked by steep cliffs and hidden coves. The main living room has windows on two sides overlooking Mill Shore itself—a secluded shingle beach with sandy shallows—where seals are commonly seen in the water, and where whales and dolphins are occasionally spotted further out.
The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: one double and two singles. Everything is on the ground floor, including the shower room and kitchen, which has an electric cooker, dishwasher and all standard appliances for self-catering. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. The property has oil central heating and a private parking space. Outside there is an enclosed lawned garden with seating and a barbecue. A shared external games room with air hockey, table tennis and a pool table is available, as well as a shared bike store and garage with two tumble dryers.
Walking is the main draw here: Troup Head, a nature reserve home to the only mainland UK gannet colony, is close by, and Cullykhan Beach—another secluded cove—is within easy reach, though the walk down is steep. The nearest pub is a quarter-mile away; shops and restaurants are about four miles distant. No smoking is permitted in the property.
