The Lighthouse

Aberdeenshire

View on Google Maps

Photo: Sylvie Rousseau

Peterhead's working harbour and nearby clifftop walks give this corner of Aberdeenshire its character. The Lighthouse sits within Marina Bay Holiday Park, where a single bedroom and two further sleeping spaces fit four guests under one roof. The timber-lined interior has a living room with television, a separate dining space, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Towels, wi-fi and electricity are included; there is private parking for one car outside.

The sleeping arrangements comprise a kingsize bed in the bedroom and two single beds elsewhere. A shared sitting area with garden furniture occupies the grounds, and external facilities serve multiple properties on the park. The location puts you within reach of Peterhead Prison Museum, the Bullers of Buchan to the south, and coastal paths that follow the Buchan coast. Local events such as the Scottish Week and regatta happen through summer months. No smoking indoors.

The view of the lighthouse from the surrounding area and the village is great. The entrance to the yard around the lighthouse is blocked by a locked door.

A lovely lighthouse that looks like something straight out of a movie. The iconic red and white tower is charming, well maintained, and stands beautifully against the coastline. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, whether you're interested in lighthouses, photography, or just enjoying the scenery. A cute and memorable landmark with plenty of character.

Very nice and well preserved lighthouse. You can't get directly to the lighthouse, but you can walk around the fenced property. Nice views of the sea.

We liked our visit to see the lighthouse and nearby harbour very much. As overseas tourists we got a genuine feel of an original Scottish port and sighted the Grey Seals which we don't have in NZ.
